November 11, 2013 – This is a special day. It’s the day where we remember all the veterans who have served and who are currently serving our country with the daunting task of protecting our freedom. Despite whatever is going on right now, we are still living in the best country in the history of the world. We have so many opportunities around us. We have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And while we all play a part in this country, the men and women in the armed services play a vital role, some of whom have made the ultimate sacrifice; Their life.
Here’s a quote from the VA’s official website on the important purpose of Veterans Day: “A celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.”
So today, for the first time really since I can remember, I am going to take a moment to remember the veterans, past and present, and be thankful for their sacrifices, for which I can enjoy my freedom. Let’s all say a prayer that God will honor the Veterans and that He will be with those families who have lost members that have died protecting our freedom
May God continue to bless our amazing nation.
